Q: Are there any considerations with botox injections and diving?

A: Botox is injected directly into the muscle; this impedes the muscle’s ability to contract by blocking the transmission of nerve impulses to the muscles. If a muscle cannot tighten, a wrinkle cannot occur.

Waiting Time From Procedure Until Diving:

This can range from no time up to one week. Some people have discomfort afterward; this prevents them from diving immediately following the procedure. It should be noted that those who have lip lines treated need to make sure their mouths can grip a regulator and they can breathe comfortably from it before diving. It is also absolutely essential that the diver be able to orally inflate their BCD to help ensure their own safety.

Repeated Dives
Written by Sharediving Team
Did you knowFollowing each dive the body retains some of the inert gas dissolved in the tissues. The correct use of dive tables usually allows enough of the gas to be excreted via the lungs to avoid the formation of bubbles large enough to cause physiological problems. Repeated dives will increase the risk of DCS if adequate time is not allowed to offload the dissolved gas. For the same reason, the depth and duration of the dive will influence the amount of absorbed gas.

What is The Wheel?
Written by Sharediving Team

Whiel'The Wheel' is a dive planner for recreational diving profiles.
Recreational diving is no-decompression diving. 'The Wheel' presents the first dive table specially designed and tested for recreational diving. It uses new time and depth limits based on dive profiles that result in lower body nitrogen levels than those of conventional tables. 'The Wheel' also lets you plan single-depth, repetitive, and multilevel dives quickly and easily, providing a precision never before available without a computer. 'The Wheel' presents dive information in a spiral, rather than rectangular, format. Smooth curves, as opposed to the stair-step format of conventional dive tables, allow you to be more precise in determining the actual time and depth limits that apply to your specific profile on each dive.

There are two very important differences between 'The Wheel' and dive tables.

First, 'The Wheel' is easy to use. It eliminates the often confusing concepts and terminology of "Actual Bottom Time" and "Residual Nitrogen Time", and the math involved with conventional dive planning techniques.

Second, and more important, The Wheel allows recreational divers to plan multilevel dives. A multilevel dive is a single dive that starts at the deepest depth and continues at a series of shallower depth levels. For example, if you begin at 25 meters, then ascend to 15 meters and later to 10 meters to complete your dive, you have made a multilevel dive. Conventional tables penalize you by having you calculate your entire dive at 25 meters (the max depth). The Wheel takes each of these levels into account, making the final profile more accurately resemble your true dive profile. Multilevel dives allow you to stay down longer and get more out of every dive.
